
Prominent music director Bombay Ravi, who composed several well-known Hindi and Malayalam songs, died in Mumbai on March 7.
He was 86 years old.
He was a music composer, who was seen as being instrumental in bringing melody back into Malayalam cinema during the 1980s.
Ravi, whose original name was Ravi Sankar Sharma, was hugely successful in Hindi during the 1960s.
He was the music director for several films like Chaudhvin Ka Chand, Do Badan, Humraaz, Aankhen and Nikaah. He took a break during the peak of his career and came back after almost a decade.
He has composed music for several films in Malayalam, which includes Panchagni, Nakhashathangal, Vaishali, Parinayam, Oru Vadakkan Veeragatha, Sargam, Padheyam and Mayookham.
Malayalam director Hariharan was known for his liking for the illustrious music director, who has been a lyricist as well.
Bombay Ravi’s spectacular songs will keep his memories alive, forever.
