Asif Ali, touted as one of the promising young heroes in the business, is all set to team up with Mammootty in the forthcoming film Jawan of Vellimala.
The film is being directed by debutant Anoop Kannan. James Albert is the scenarist.
It could be an interesting combo, as both the youngster and the veteran are seriously in search of some hits, after a string of flops.
The talks are still on but if it happens, the casting could be a nice one indeed.
Mammootty’s recently released Kannada- Malayalam bilingual Shikkaari has been given thumbs down by virtually everyone.
Asif is going through a rough patch in his career as well after the flop shows of Violin, Asuravithu and Unnam.
Mammootty is currently shooting for Johnny Antony’s Thappana while Asif is shooting for Saji Surendran’s Husbands in Goa.
